Magic ToDo is a useful tool that functions much like a standard todo list but with some unique features. It offers a special 'spiciness level' option. By setting this level, you give the tool a hint about how difficult or stressful you find a particular task. The higher the spiciness level, the more steps the tool will attempt to break the task down into, though it's not an exact measurement but rather a guide for the system.
Top level tasks are automatically assigned a category indicated by an emoji, allowing for easy categorization. You can filter your list to show only tasks from one or more specific categories using the provided button. Additionally, the filter button enables you to hide all completed items, keeping your list focused on what still needs to be done.
Each task item has common task tools such as edit, remove, add subtask, and estimator accessible under a button. The icon on the left of each item can be dragged to reorder the items anywhere you like within the list.
For the entire list, there are additional actions available. These include synchronization between devices, which is an experimental feature. To use it, you need to provide a unique username and password. Your list is encrypted on your devices using these credentials, ensuring that it can't be seen or decrypted by admins or anyone without your specific details. Synchronization isn't instant and may take a few seconds for changes to appear on other devices.
There are also various export options like saving to a file, loading from a saved file, copying to the clipboard, printing, and exporting to different templates such as Todoist or iCal. You can also estimate all tasks, mark all as not completed, clear all estimates, clear all completed tasks, or even clear the entire list depending on your needs.
